Our mission at Metcalf Entertainment Intelligence, LLC (MEI) is to make entertainment research, analysis, and expert advice accessible and affordable to all entertainment professionals. MEI was founded by the former head of ABC Television Research, NBC Programming, and co-creator of Showbuzzdaily.com, Mitch Metcalf. With his 30+ years of industry experience, MEI was born out of a great need from undeserved entertainment companies & professionals that were struggling to find quality analytics and insights.
With the top large companies in the industry hoarding all the insights, they "hold all the cards" and have all the leverage. It doesn't have to be like this. Large media companies like studios, networks and streamers have enormous research departments. If you are at a smaller media company like a production company or guild, you can still benefit from the insights and analysis of audience research. Whether you are negotiating deals with the top networks, needing help with taking your pitch to the next level, working to improve your ratings, can't make sense of the data or struggling to find the right data, let MEI give you the edge you need. Let us empower you.
At Metcalf Entertainment Intelligence, LLC (MEI) we strive to solve your problems so you don't have to guess. If you’d like to learn more about how our consulting services can help you or your business grow, book an introductory meeting today.
Mitch Metcalf is the founder of Metcalf Entertainment Intelligence LLC, an entertainment research consulting firm that helps entertainment industry clients analyze and interpret data. Mitch is an expert on market research and strategy across various media industry segments. He is also the co-creator of ShowBuzzDaily.com, founded in 2011. Before establishing MEI, Mitch spent over a decade at NBC in Scheduling and Research, most recently as Executive Vice President, Program Planning & Scheduling, NBC Entertainment. He joined NBC following a nine-year career at ABC, where he became Senior Vice President, Research, ABC Television Network. Along with TV analysis & research, Mitch was also responsible for analyzing box office grosses for feature films, and creating a model to identify optimal motion picture acquisitions, which led to his Box Office database and his Box Office predictions...
A Princeton graduate and originally from Pasadena, California, Mitch has lived on both coasts & the Midwest throughout his career and now resides in the Los Angeles. He has three children, two grown and one in high school. When he's not working he loves spending time with his family. Mitch has a passion for TV, movies and sports, especially baseball.
Mitch's love of TV, movies, and the numbers spans a lifetime starting at age 9 with a cartoon drawing depicting the "battle of the networks" behind a news desk with each network flailing swords ready for a fierce fight in the rating's race. This is framed and still hangs on his office wall today.
Mitch co-created this site with Mitch Salem to combine proprietary predictions of movie box office and television ratings, an inside look at the business of Hollywood, along with pithy and insightful movie and television reviews. ShowBuzzDaily.com became the "the most commonly used ratings source online", according to Forbes and can be found on online sites like Variety, Mediaite, The Huffington Post and many others.
ShowBuzzDaily.com is considered one of the most "reliable and popular sources in Wikipedia", according to bestref.net, ranking in 42nd place (English Wikipedia) and 60th place (Multilingual Wikipedia) beating cia.gov.
For clients outside the entertainment industry, Mitch also provides research consulting at Benchmark Research LLC.
